Nintendo has finally decided to reveal the contents of the first DLC pack coming to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The first pack of DLC is titled The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Master Trials, and will be launching this coming summer. The second DLC pack hasn't been named yet but will be coming sometime during the holiday season of this year. You can only buy the two DLC packs as a bundle called the Expansion Pass for $19.99 in the Nintendo Switch eShop.
The first part of the BOTW DLC is the Trial of the Sword. In the Trial of the Sword you'll fight your way through 45 rooms full of enemies that come one after the other, all while starting the challenge will no armor or weapons. You'll need to defeat every enemy in a room before you can move on to the next, and when you finish the trial the Master Sword will gain its true power and be in its powerful, glowing state at all times (it will still break and need recharging though).
The next part of the DLC is the addition of a Hard Mode for BOTW. In Hard Mode, all of the enemies you run into will have their "ranks" increased by one level from what they would normally be, so all Red Bokoblins are now Blue Bokoblins and so forth. Enemies will also now slowly recover health during battle, making drawn out battles something you'll definitely want to avoid. Sneaking will be harder as well since enemies will have an easier time spotting Link approaching. Also, new floating platforms will be added to the game, on which enemies and treasure chests will be held up by balloons.
Some of the smaller, but still awesome, things being added to BOTW include a new Hero's Path Mode that tracks every step you've taken for the past 200 hours of play time. This will allow you to easily see where you haven't explored yet and will work retroactively so you won't have to start a new game to access Hero's Path Mode. The Travel Medallion is also being added in the DLC, which will allow you to create a single temporary travel point on the map where you are currently located, although you will have to find the medallion in a chest somewhere first. However, you can only have one travel point active at a time.
A bunch of new equipment is also being added to the game, eight in total, all themed after characters from previous Zelda games such as Midna, Tingle, Phantom, and Skull Kid (Majora's Mask). Another new piece of equipment being added is the Korok Mask. The Korok Mask, when found in a hidden treasure chest, will shake whenever you are near a hidden Korok location, making it much easier to max out your inventory slots.

Along with the DLC information, Nintendo detailed the latest patch for BOTW, which will allow you to play the game with a different language for subtitles then you want for the actual audio. If you are playing on the Wii U you'll need to download the Voice Pack from the eShop first.
