Nintendo has released their Quarterly financial reports for the months of April to June, 2017, and it was a good quarter for the company.

One of the big pushers for the past few months, of course, was the Nintendo Switch, which drove the company to experience a ¥154,069 million increase in net sales, a 148.6% increase over last year. The Switch has sold another 1.97 million units in this time, bringing the total units sold for the young system close to 5 million units since March of this year.

The majority of it's profits were made in software for the Switch, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and ARMS, Nintendo's two big releases for the quarter, seeing 3. 54 and 1.18 million units sold worldwide. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also continues to be a major seller, with another 1.16 million units sold to bring its total units close to 4 million worldwide.

The Nintendo 3DS saw a boost with Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, but while Hardware sales are steady a 0.95 million units, software sales are down nearly 31%, only hitting 5.85 million units sold during the quarter. Nintendo's mobile division is picking up the slack, however, seeing a 450% increase on a year to year basis for titles like Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes. In total, mobile games have raked in ¥9 billion in revenue for the company.

The quarterly report was strong, but Nintendo had a few other incidental announcements when it comes to upcoming software. In particular the recently announced Pokémon game for the Switch was given a rather wide release window. The title is expected, according to Nintendo's supplementary report, to be released in "2018 or later."

The Pokémon Company's Tsunezaku Ishihara noted that the game may not release for more than a year during Nintendo's E3 presentation, so the wording on the release window for the game is in line with the previous announcement. This is also unlike another announced title coming to the switch, Metroid Prime 4, which is listed as TBA by Nintendo.

The Pokémon Company is busy with several titles coming out in the next year, including  Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the re-releases of Pokémon Gold and Silver, and Pokken Tournament for the switch.

Other major releases by Nintendo coming in 2018 include Yoshi, Fire Emblem, and Kirby games, all of which were semi-announced at E3 this year.
