A trailer for Star Fox Zero began Nintendo's E3 Conference this morning featuring a skit involving Muppet versions of the presenters. The shown footage takes heavy cues from the original Star Fox 64 map layout. Wii U Gamepad functionality offers a cockpit view that will allow for a more immersive and precise perspective than any earlier entries in the series. In addition to the famous Arwing space fighter, the game shows the walker mode from the cancelled Star Fox 2 title for the SNES. Additionally, there will be some sort of helicopter named the 'Gyro Wing' that offers a vehicle perspective never before seen in the series. Miyamoto stated that he aimed to make this the most immersive title in the series. Controls will rely heavily on the sticks to move like a real plane, one button for firing, another for transforming and, lastly, one dedicated to the legendary barrel roll. This title is not necessarily a sequel or remake; hence the subtitle 'zero'. Later discussion during a gameplay demo clarified that the title is meant as a reimagining of Star Fox 64.
