Travis Touchdown is back, and he's got more fight in him then ever. At their E3 2019 Nintendo Direct, developer Grasshopper Manufacture officially announced the development of No More Heroes III.
The announcement trailer (which can be viewed in this tweet) showed the one and only Travis Touchdown emerging from his apartment to face an attack by some sort of robotic force.
We got to see some of Travis' classic moves and beam katana, and from the sound of things, he's got a lot of freelance assassinating ahead of him.
The game apparently takes place ten years after the events of No More Heroes, with Travis Touchdown returning to Santa Destroy only to find a pair of strange floating constructs in the sea and sky around his hometown.
Director Goichi Suda, otherwise known as Suda51, expressed his excitement for the project in a later press release, saying,
After the Nintendo Switch unveiling conference in 2017, we released Travis Strikes Again this year, and now we are finally able to make the dream of No More Heroes III a reality. We’re working hard on development day in and day out to ensure that NMHIII goes above and beyond the expectations of all the fans who have been waiting for the game for so long, and we’re going to be rolling it out in 2020. May the Switch be with you!
After almost a decade of silence from the series, Travis Touchdown seems to be making a comeback. Grasshopper Manufacture suddenly revived the series earlier this year with Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, a spin-off mini-game collection.
Now the cult-hit franchise appears to be back in full force. Is it too naive to predict he'll be in Smash Ultimate? Either way, No More Heroes III will be releasing exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
