Nihon Falcom has announced that its action RPG The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails will head West in fall this year. It'll come to PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, marking the first time that the game has been playable outside Japan, where it was released in 2021 (or 2012, if you're counting the PSP original).

The new "Introduction Trailer" for The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails introduces us to the game's world and its cast, as well as giving a flavor of what the action-RPG gameplay is like. You'll explore both the Sciencia Sea and the mysterious land of Lost Heaven, switching between the two as the story demands. You can check out the Introduction Trailer for The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails right here.

Technically, The Legend of Nayuta is part of Nihon Falcom's Trails series, although there's no direct connection between this game and any of the other Trails installments. The gameplay sees you facing off against a variety of enemies in action-RPG combat, leaping over spikes and other platforming hazards, and generally taking a more hands-on approach than the often turn-based Trails games usually involve.

A Nihon Falcom press release promises "real-time action gameplay and environment-based puzzles" that will be affected by the season you're currently in. The magic available to you will also change with the seasons, so you'll need to make sure you've got the right spells on hand when you go up against The Legend of Nayuta's many foes.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails launches for PC (where it's already technically available, although it's entirely in Japanese), PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in fall 2023. We don't have a more specific release date than that yet, but the Trails series as a whole is thriving in the West thanks to this release, the upcoming launch of Trails Into Reverie, and more. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more info about this series and Nayuta in particular.
