The original Nights of Azure came to Western audiences on PS4 last year and then to PC earlier this year. Now the game’s sequel is preparing for launch in Japan this August and gamers in other parts of the world will get to play it soon after in the fall. This will be Koei Tecmo’s first game for the Switch in the West.
Set in the same universe as the first game, Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon is a completely original story that you won’t have to have played the first title in the series to enjoy. The game takes place in a fictional Western European city toward the end of the 19th century amidst a plague of demons that terrorize the town at night. An organization of knights and priestesses have formed to try and keep the demon presence in check and the balance of dark and light in order.
The protagonist of Nights of Azure 2 is the knight protector Alushe, a girl who was killed and resurrected as a half demon by the New Curia. Other main characters include Alushe’s childhood friends the kindhearted priestess Liliana and holy knight of the Lourdes Order Ruhenheid. Together and with the help of a variety of unlikely allies they will discover more about the religious organization the New Curia’s dark ties and the mysterious Queen of the Moon.
Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon will release in the West on October 24, 2017 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC via Steam.
