Gust has revealed new details about their upcoming sequel Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon. Recently announced last week, the RPG will be set in the same universe as Nights of Azure with a whole new story and cast of characters. Now more information about the story, characters and gameplay have been released.
Set in the same universe as it’s predecessor, Nights of Azure 2 sets its characters in a world in which humans live their lives during the day and demons take over at night as a result of a battle between the Nightlord and the Saint. In the sequel Alushe is a knight of the Curia tasked with protecting her childhood friend and new saint, Liliana. To their dismay, it is revealed that Liliana must sacrifice herself to the “Queen of the Moon”. Trying to flee Liliana’s fate, the girls run away only to end up facing a powerful demon.
Alushe is killed in the ensuing battle but is resurrected as a half-demon by the Curia. Liliana has disappeared but there are clues to her whereabouts. Although she has dedicated her life to fighting the night, Alushe must now embrace her newfound demon power to save her friend.
In addition to more in-depth story details, Gust has given fans more information about the characters in the game. The protagonist of the title is Alushe Anatoria, who is a half-demon knight of the Curia. She has a no-nonsense type of personality and is a skilled fighter.
Liliana Selphin is the Saint who has been chosen by the Curia to be the “Bride of Time” and be sacrificed to the moon queen. She is friendly and kind with a strong heart. In combat, she has the ability to slow down time.
Ruhenheid Ariarod is a holy knight of the Lourdes Order and opposes the Curia organization which Alushe and Liliana belong to. She wields the Mind Sword Oz that converts her emotions into a blade. As the childhood friend of both Alushe and Liliana her loyalty to the Lourdes Order puts a strain on their relationship.
More details about the game’s Lily system have also been elaborated on. A Lily system is how partners to fight alongside the protagonist are chosen and improved. In Nights of Azure 2 beautiful heroines can be chosen to help Alushe in combat. The more a heroine is used, the deeper her bond with Alushe will be unlocking new abilities and special story events. Liliana and Ruhenheid can both be chosen as “Lilys” and more will be introduced leading up to the game’s launch.
Specifics about purchasing the game have divulged that first-print copies of the game will include an in-game item DLC. The premium box edition (10,300 Yen PS4 and 9.300 Yen PS Vita) will include an in-game costume for Alushe, visual book, official soundtrack, scented B3 poster, an Alushe 3D card and beautiful girl bromide set. The special premium box (16,300 Yen PS4 and 15,300 Yen PS Vita) will include the secret warm-feeling bath poster, beautiful girl key chain set and A3 tapestry set in addition to everything in the premium box.
