NieR: Automata May Get Demo and New Trailer

After the announcement at Gamescom 2016 that NieR: Automata will be coming to both PlayStation 4 and PC when it launches next year, producer Yosuke Saito has divulged more information about the game in an interview with Japanese gaming publication Famitsu. In the interview, partially translated over at Gematsu, Saito talks about the possibilities of a demo for the highly anticipated RPG.

There seems a good possibility the Square Enix and Platinum Games title could be getting a demo prior to launch. Here’s what the producer had to say about considering a NieR: Automata demo-

“I’m thinking about whether something like a demo, for example, would be good to give users a chance to get their hands on the game. Rather than have users experience it within a short 10 or 20 minutes, I want users to properly experience NieR: Automata with a demo of a 30-to-40 minute, sit-down-and-play kind of volume.”

The Tokyo Game Show is coming up in September and more news about Nier: Automata can be expected then. When asked about what they’d be showing at the upcoming game show Saito remarked,”While we’ve focused on showing the action up until now, I think we’ll be able to debut a trailer that gives off an ‘RPG’-like impression, so please look forward to it.”

Those excited about NieR: Automata have a new RPG focused trailer and possibly a lengthy demo to look forward to. The interview with Famitsu also discussed in depth about the music included in the new game. It was also speculated whether the game would run in 60fps 4k on PC when released. The full interview can be read in the original Japanese here.

Set in a dystopian future in which mankind has been forced to relocate to the Moon, this RPG pits advanced android soldiers against otherworldly threats in order to take back Earth with a blend of creepy weirdness and futuristic steampunk aesthetic. NieR: Automata will be released on PS4 and PC via Steam in early 2017 from Square Enix and Platinum Games.
