After a few false starts regarding the PC release date of NieR: Automata, Square Enix has announced that NieR: Automata will be releasing on PC March 17.
The sequel to the cult-hit NieR, NieR: Automata, is the result of a collaboration between Square Enix and Platinum Games after Square decided to let creator Yoko Taro work on a sequel for NieR, with the stipulation that the gameplay had to be better. Platinum was brought in for that purpose, due to their experience in working on combat systems and energetic high impact combat in games like Bayonetta.
The PC version of NieR: Automata will be releasing a week later than the PlayStation 4 version is anywhere, with the PS4 version releasing in North America on March 7 and in Europe on March 10. That being said, the PC version still does get a Day One Edition for those who pre-order it, and it has an exclusive piece of fluff content compared to the PlayStation 4 release. The "Valve Character Accessory" gives you a special eye patch that has a valve on it and is purely cosmetic. There are also, as part of the Day One Edition, a Machine Mask Accessory, a Grimoire Weiss Pod, a Retro Grey Pod Skin, a Retro Red Pod Skin, and a Cardboard Pod Skin.
For those wondering, the Steam Page has the system requirements up for the game if you are considering picking it up when it releases.
