Landfall has announced that the next two Totally Accurate Battle Simulator updates will effectively mark the end of new content for the amusing sandbox simulation game.

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is a game that's all about smashing hundreds of troops into each other for the sake of hilarity. The game has had several updates over the years and even a Battle Royale spinoff (because why not). Now, it looks like development of this quirky game is coming to an end in the near future -- but we'll get some cool new content before it goes the way of the dodo.

What's Coming in the Next Two Totally Accurate Battle Simulator Updates?

The good news is that some interesting new content is coming to Landfall's game in the future. The bad news, however, is that the next two Totally Accurate Battle Simulator updates will be the last.

As Landfall explains in today's announcement (via Reddit), it has been working on the game for over half a decade and the devs are keen to make something new. However, that is not the only reason -- developing new content for this game has become a bit of a challenge.

"[...] due to TABS having been developed for over five years, it’s at a point where it is super hard to work in," read the announcement. "It can take the designers a day of crashes to even load into the project, and once they make changes it’s super common for other things to break and create more bugs."

As a result of these challenges, Landfall has come to the conclusion that it "just isn't possible" to continue working on future updates such as the addition of the Hero Unit or more feature for the unit creator.

That said, Landfall nonetheless has plans for some more content before it moves on to its next project. The first unnannounced update will be something that is "highly requested," but the devs are playing their cards close to their chest. The second update will add some neon-inspired weapons to the Unit Creator, giving gamers a few more options for cooking up fancy custom creations (as seen in our header image).

While it's a bit sad to see the end of development, the logistical challenges (and the desire to do something else) are certainly understandable. For now, there's still plenty of great content to enjoy in this game right now -- you can buy Totally Accurate Battle Simulator via its official website for $19.99 or your regional equivalent.
