People Can Fly has announced that the next Outriders update is going to be delayed for a couple of days at the minimum due to unforeseen crash issues arising during development.
Outriders is a new game from People Can Fly and Square Enix that launched earlier this year. One to three players can select from their choice of four classes and take on challenging enemies in a strange alien world. It's a pretty fun game by all accounts, but it looks like we're going to be waiting a little longer to get our hands on the next patch.
"As you know we were hoping to release our latest patch today. We have, however, made the difficult decision to push the patch back to Thursday [July 15, 2021]," read an update from the developers on the game's subreddit.
"We encountered a couple crash issues and need your help to determine the risk they may pose!" the dev update continued.
The first of the two crash issues causes the game to crash on launch for a small number of testers; these crashes do not persist after a certain number of crashes have already occurred. The second issue can cause the game to crash when players are returning to the lobby from a multiplayer session.
Unfortunately, People Can Fly was unable to discover the cause of these crashes before this Outriders update was supposed to launch and it has decided to delay it as a result. Furthermore, People Can Fly needs the help of the playerbase to figure out what the heck is going on.
People Can Fly asks that players mention if they have experienced the specified crash on launch as a reply to this Reddit comment. Anyone who has experienced the specified crash on returning to the lobby should reply to this Reddit comment.
When is the Next Outriders Update Release Date?
The next Outriders update release date might be July 15, 2021 — but only if People Can Fly can figure out the crash issue before then. If it can't, it's going to need more time to resolve these issues.
