The first beta weekend for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a wrap and Activision is already looking forward to the next.
The first weekend was limited solely to those that have pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4, but the second will be open to everyone on PlayStation 4 and will go from October 21st to October 24th.
For those on Xbox One, there is no word on whether it will be open to everyone on the system; however, the beta will be happening for Xbox One during the same weekend. There is no beta for PC users.
You can go ahead and get a head start now by pre-downloading the beta that will be this coming weekend. The first weekend was extended for a day, which is not uncommon, so it wouldn't be a surprise if it happened here as well.
It did have its share of problems, however, with many reporting problems with matchmaking. Considering that testing matchmaking is one of the primary reasons Infinity Ward is holding the beta, it's good the problems are cropping up to be handled now rather than at launch.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be releasing worldwide on November 4th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Will you be participating in the Infinite Warfare beta weekend? What are you looking forward to the most?
Quick Take
Beta weekends and extending them are becoming a very regular thing for AAA games, and I think they are good. They give people a shot to test the game out all the while stressing and testing servers to make sure the launch of the game is at least smoother than it would have been previously. There's also some feedback they can receive from players, so they can maybe do some finetuning before release.
In any case, these beta weekends, including Infinite Warfare's, is a good trend in the industry.
