The world's best known trucking simulator is getting some updates in version 1.21 in advance of its new upcoming DLC. The new DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is Cabin Accessories and it will let you make your truck cabin look the way you want with a mixture of practical and completely impractical things... all working with the games physics engine. So if you've been dreaming about how to make your cabin look cool officially, and with some good animations this might be up your alley as this trailer demonstrates:https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=41&v=iVtLnnTFq_o
In preparation for this SCS Software has put patch 1.21 out into beta. Much of this patch is preparing for the upcoming DLC and some highlights for it are:
- Improved reflections on the interior
- Improved sounds on tires and breaking
- Improved road collisions
- Workaround for missing geometry on low-end intel GPUs on OSX.
It's not a particularly big patch but helps set things up. If you want to get your hands on it early, you can go to it on the public_beta branch for Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Steam. For that go to your Steam Library and right click on Euro Truck Simulator 2 hit properties, go to Betas tab, go public_beta and then hit 1.21 public beta.
While the patch here is pretty minor it does continue the support that SCS Software has had for the game on the whole even more than 2 years after release. As for the upcoming Cabin Accessories DLC, it doesn't really do a ton to add things that were unavailable via modding but the quality for it appears good and the animations will almost certainly make it stand out and above most fan creations. So if you're looking for some cosmetics in your Euro Truck Simulator 2, this looks like its for you.
