Innersloth has revealed details of what's coming in the new Among Us update. The studio is working on some pretty big features for the update, including a couple of oft-requested additions to the gameplay. Unfortunately, we still don't have a release date for the update yet.
What's coming in the new Among Us update?
This news comes via the official Among Us Twitter account. In a tweet, Innersloth revealed that it's working on adding 15-player lobbies to the next big Among Us update, meaning you and up to 14 of your friends - or randoms, if your trust extends that far - can play together. Innersloth says it's also working on new player colors and an "improved art style", which sounds intriguing. In a reply to a Twitter user, Innersloth clarified that the art style "won't look super different", just cleaner and easier for the devs to animate. The studio also shared a screenshot of what the new, improved Among Us is going to look like.
In addition to these new features, Innersloth says it's also working on "bug fixes and more improvements" for Among Us. The studio didn't specify exactly what those bug fixes and improvements are, so when the update does eventually drop, expect a lengthy list of minor tweaks to accompany it. Closing out the tweet, Innersloth thanks its fans for their patience and says it's "finally catching up".
When can we expect the new Among Us update to drop?
Sadly, Innersloth hasn't revealed exactly when the update is coming. Cheekily, when asked for a rough timeframe for the update - whether it'll be coming in a week, a month, or longer - the studio simply replied with "yes". Clearly, we're not going to get a concrete release date or even a rough release window for a little while just yet. Watch this space for more info.
You can grab Among Us right now on PC via Steam. It's also available on mobile platforms and on Nintendo Switch, and Innersloth has confirmed that an Xbox release for the game is coming this year. We'll let you know as soon as we get more about the upcoming update.
