Korean gaming giant Nexon has announced a new project set in its wildly successful Dungeon & Fighter universe. Right now, the project is known only as Project DW, and we don't have much more info about it as yet, but if you're a Dungeon Fighter Online fan, this should give you something to look forward to.
If you've never played the original Dungeon Fighter Online, which is a 2D brawler MMO that launched in 2005, you might have heard of DNF Duel, the Dungeon & Fighter 2D fighting game released in summer 2022. Dungeon & Fighter is one of the most successful media franchises in the world; it's roughly on par with franchises like Barbie, Pixar's Cars, and Hello Kitty in terms of revenue.
With that in mind, then, it makes sense that Nexon would want to create more titles in the franchise, and that's where Project DW comes in. All we know about it right now is that it's an open-world action RPG set in the Dungeon & Fighter universe.

Project DW is in development over at Nexon Games, which is also currently working on projects like looter-shooter The First Descendant and multiplayer shooter Veiled Experts. The game will be available on PC, consoles, and mobile, although we don't know if it'll reach last-gen machines as well as current-gen consoles.
If Dungeon & Fighter has eluded you up until now and you're wondering how it can be so popular, the simple answer is that it has a massive Korean player base, much like the runaway smash hit Goose Goose Duck. Nexon estimates that Dungeon & Fighter has registered over 850 million players around the world, and according to Reuters, the franchise has earned over $20 billion since 2005.
Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more news about Project DW as and when we get it. Until then, if you want to check out the Dungeon & Fighter franchise, you can play DNF Duel right now on PC and PlayStation consoles, and the original Dungeon Fighter Online is also available on Steam.
