The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still having some issues post-patch.
After CD Projekt Red released Patch 1.07 for The Witcher 3 this weekend, it was reported by Digital Foundry that both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game are suffering from major framerate issues, along with other technical glitches and bugs.
It was noted that certain sections in the game, such as the Crookback Bog, are locked in at 20fps at most, sometimes going as low as 8fps. Digital Foundry summed up the issue succinctly, "This means that the reading on our graph is consistently lower on patch 1.07 as compared to 1.05, where it was free to waver between 20-30fps freely."
Travelling from place to place is also problematic; the country roadsides and major cities such as Novigrad also suffer heavily, in particular on the Playstation 4 version of the game. Digital Foundry noted that little has actually improved with the PS4 version of The Witcher 3, as it was unable to achieve a consistent 30fps. The patch is also not showing up for some countries in Europe on the Playstation Network, an issue CD Projekt Red is aware of and looking to fix.
Digital Foundry noted that the Xbox One version of The Witcher 3 is the better version at this time, although the performance gap between the two games has decreased with patch 1.07.
The PC version of the game has been unaffected with framerate issues since the patch, but is suffering from several new bugs. Most of these issues pertain to achievements not functioning correctly on the Steam or GOG versions of the game.
Patch 1.07 would fix a lot of issues with The Witcher 3, including horse behavior, inventory system changes, and overall bug fixes found throughout the game. The details of the patch can be found here.
