Two new trailers for Attack on Titan 2 were published by Koei Tecmo today, showing off the character creator and some high-flying combat. The character creator, which is new to Attack on Titan 2, will allow players to fight alongside Eren and Mikasa against the lumbering Titans. This, when coupled with the improved RPG and town systems, hope to provide a greater sense of involvement in the story. The combat trailer shows off quite a bit of acrobatics and neck-slicing maneuvers needed to bring down the monsters, plus a brief shot of Eren's own transformation into a Titan. A few weeks ago, Koei Tecmo also dropped a bit of information regarding the online multiplayer, which has been expanded from its earlier iteration.
The four-player co-operative play returns, this time with some new modes in tow. While you're still able to take down Titans in side missions, you can now play through the story with a co-op partner the whole way through. Additionally, Omega Force has added a 4v4 PvP mode. Instead of fighting against other players directly, you're competing to see which team can rack up the most points before a certain time limit.
Created by Warriors developer Omega Force, Attack on Titan 2 picks up where the first left off. Envisioned as an adaptation of the manga series (and thus diverting from the anime), Attack on Titan pits the survivors of humanity against colossal humanoid monsters. Initially serialized in 2009, Attack on Titan quickly grew to be one of the most popular manga and anime series. Two television seasons have aired, with a third slated for this summer. Though the first game didn't quite cover the themes and depth that other adaptations did, it was praised for capturing the same level of action. We'll know just how many improvements Attack on Titan 2 has made when it releases on March 20th, 2018.
