New Spiritfarer Gameplay Debuts During Wholesome Direct 2020

Thunder Lotus Games has unveiled new Spiritfarer gameplay in today's Wholesome Direct.

The new gameplay offers a look at some of the new platforming in Spiritfarer, including how that dynamic platforming counterpoints the cozy management gameplay and emotional narrative.

On top of this new gameplay, Thunder Lotus Games will be hosting an AMA on June 10, 2020 as a part of the Steam Game Festival - Summer Edition. The team will be discussing its approach to delivering a unique experience that is both entertaining and emotionally moving. They will also be answering questions from fans. You can keep updated on the AMA's details on the game's Steam page.

You can watch the new Spiritfarer platforming gameplay below:

The game's Creative Director Nicolas Guérin offered a statement on the new trailer and the studio's decision to hold an AMA.

“It’s great to be able to showcase some of the great gameplay variety we’re building into Spiritfarer with this Teaser. The game’s development is coming along very smoothly, and our great community has been quite vocal about their anticipation. I look forward to fielding their questions during the AMA.”

Spiritfarer was originally unveiled back at Microsoft's E3 2019 briefing and stood out as one of the most unique and pretty indie games at the showcase. Thunder Lotus Games has been working on the title for years now and it is a significant departure from their last game, Sundered.

The game has a number of unique features besides the platforming, with last year's reveal trailer focusing on the previously mentioned emotional narrative and learning to say goodbye to the friends you make on your journey.
