Today Ubisoft fully revealed the new season for its popular shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, including a new operator and more tweaks and additions.
As we saw yesterday, the new Swedish operator Fenrir will join the Red Hammer team, and the Consulate map will get an overhaul.
Fenrir's gadget is initially inert and bulletproof. When activated, it becomes vulnerable to gunfire while emitting a cloud of toxins that reduce the enemy's view range to a few meters due to the "Fear Effect." Incidentally, he has only five gadgets and three activation codes, so he has to juggle which gadgets to activate.
The operation will come to the test server tomorrow. You can check him out in action in the video below.
Incidentally, the roadmap has been changed slightly: Frost's rework is being delayed to next season, while the new Observation Blocker gadget is coming this season.
You can also take a look at the rest of the features coming with the new operation below, including the overhauled shooting range, the permanent arcade playlist (which will also include a new Free for All mode that does what it says on the tin), the Observation Blocker secondary gadget, and the rebalancing of Grim.
Console versions of the game are also getting new controller layout as an accessibility feature. The full release will be on May 30.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege has been out for quite a while, and unlike its successor Rainbow Six Extraction, it has enjoyed great popularity among fans despite the slow start, contributing very consistently to Ubisoft's earnings.
The game is currently available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
A couple of months ago, we saw the presentation of the current year (the eighth for the game), and we heard that the developers are already looking at the next ten years for the game.
