Developer TiMi Studio has revealed more information about what's coming in tomorrow's Pokemon Unite update. To coincide with the Pokemon Unite mobile release date, the MOBA is getting a number of new features including full cross-play, new events and items, and more.
What's included in the new Pokemon Unite patch notes?
In a new Letter from the Producer post today, we got a glimpse at the new Pokemon Unite patch notes courtesy of producer Masaaki Hoshino. These notes aren't comprehensive by any means; we'll need to wait until tomorrow's update to get a full idea of what's changed. However, as the game is launching on mobile, you'll be able to link your account between the Switch and mobile versions of Pokemon Unite. Full cross-play is also being introduced, so Switch players can duke it out with those on Android or iOS.

As well as cross-play, Pokemon Unite is also getting a bunch of new stuff on all platforms. New events are being added to let you upgrade held items to grade 30 easier (and alleviating some of the pay-to-win concern players have expressed), and you'll also notice brand new held items to help augment your strategies. Unite Squads will let you buddy up with your squadmates, and there's a new Battle Pass coming with lots of new cosmetic rewards to unlock. Spectator Mode is making a limited debut with "some limited Spectator Mode features", and there's also support for new languages coming. After August's Blissey release and Blastoise earlier this month, we don't have a new Pokemon release date, but we could get one soon.
When is the Pokemon Unite release date on mobile?
Happily, if you've been waiting to play Pokemon Unite on mobile, you won't have to wait much longer. The Pokemon Unite release date on mobile is...well...tomorrow, September 22nd. After a Nintendo Switch launch back in July, it looks like TiMi's MOBA is finally ready to hit mobile devices. You'll likely have to readjust to the new touch control scheme if you've been playing with a controller or your Joy-Cons, but otherwise, Pokemon Unite on mobile will be the same game as on the Switch.

You'll be able to download Pokemon Unite on Android and iOS for free starting from tomorrow. If you're new to the game but you've been around the MOBA block a few times, you may want to check out our guide on how Pokemon Unite differs from other MOBAs. There are a few key differences that might throw you off if you're expecting League of Pokemon. Once you've done that, go check the game out yourself; it's free to download right now on Nintendo Switch.
