The first new Naraka: Bladepoint hero is arriving next month, and that's not all — 24 Entertainment is adding new server hubs in South America and Oceania to help deal with its growing player count.
Naraka: Bladepoint is a fast-paced Battle Royale game that's features fantastical Asian characters using high-flying moves to take out their opponents. The game has proved to be a pretty popular experience despite being a premium Battle Royale game. Now, 24 Entertainment has detailed new content on the way for its fans — starting with a new hero!
A New Naraka: Bladepoint Hero is On the Way
Let's start with the new content: a new Naraka: Bladepoint hero is set to be revealed next month. It will be the first of many new characters that will make their debut in this fast-paced Battle Royale game.
"Players will be able to unlock new heroes in-game using Tae or Gold," the developers said in a Steam Community announcement. "We’ve also extended the Yoto Hime special offer. New players will still automatically unlock Yoto Hime on purchase for the foreseeable future".
Sadly, all we know for the moment is that a new hero is on the way; there haven't been any hints as to what kind of gameplay this hero will have or what s/he will look like.
When is the New Naraka: Bladepoint Hero Release Date?
The new Naraka: Bladepoint hero release date will be sometime in September 2021. Unfortunately, the developers did not provide a more specific release date.
Naraka: Bladepoint Servers Expanding in South America and Oceania as Player Count Grows
New hero aside, the Naraka: Bladepoint player count has continued to steadily grow in the week since its launch, coming close to the 136,000 peak players it hit during the final beta test.
According to SteamDB, the Naraka: Bladepoint player count sits at an all-time peak of 104,607. It's so popular, in fact, that there are nearly 40,000 people playing the game at the time of writing. That's pretty damn good.
Sadly, popularity also comes with problems. Some players have experienced high ping, owing in part to a lack of regional server hubs in South America and Oceania. The ping issues are being worked on by the devs alongside an expansion in available server hubs.
"We are currently testing the new network hubs in South America and Oceania," the developer Q&A noted. "Some South American and Oceania players are likely to be playing across those new hubs, and seeing a great improvement on network connections."
For now, there's plenty of fun to be had in this fast-paced Battle Royale! For now, you can buy Naraka: Bladepoint for PC via Steam starting at $19.99 or your regional equivalent.
