Netherrealm has released a new trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack DLC. The trailer shows off returning fighter Shang Tsung and teases a couple of new characters coming to the game.

Mortal Kombat 11's version of Shang Tsung is portrayed by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who also played the character in the klassic 1995 movie. He's got all the moves you'd expect from everyone's favorite shapeshifting sorcerer. His classic skull projectiles have made the leap to MK11, as has his ability to transform into other Mortal Kombat characters on the fly. Shang Tsung also begins battle as an elderly man before quickly morphing into a younger version of himself. Looks like fans aren't going to be disappointed by the DLC. Shang Tsung's trailer is a love-in for classic Mortal Kombat characters. Ninjas Ermac, Smoke, Reptile, and Rain all appear as transformations. Shang Tsung also transforms into Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot, and Scorpion during a particularly nasty combo. As if that wasn't enough, Shang Tsung's fatality brings back Tigrar Shokan character Kintaro. We're pretty sure Kintaro is still alive according to canon, although who knows at this point. The powerful warlock looks like he's going to be a pretty deadly addition to the Mortal Kombat 11 kast.

The trailer also looks ahead to some upcoming DLC characters. Fans of the series can look forward to tomahawk wielder Nightwolf and unwilling empress Sindel. There's no word yet on whether those two's movie actors will return (Litefoot and Musetta Vander respectively). You'll also be able to play as Todd McFarlane's Spawn. In addition, Netherrealm is teasing two extra fighters. Fans have supposedly uncovered references to The Terminator, DC's The Joker, and Ash from the Evil Dead franchise within the game's files. Whether these are the characters Netherrealm is teasing remains to be seen. With only two spots, if those are the ones coming, one of them is a red herring for the lineup. We could well learn more at E3. In the meantime, check out TechRaptor's review of Mortal Kombat 11.
