Today Sega released a brand new trailer for the upcoming action game Like a Dragon: Ishin!, which is finally coming next month.
The trailer focuses on a new mechanic introduced in the game, Trooper Cards, that let you collect cards representing various allies that can be slotted in your fighting styles and unleashed in battle for a variety of effects.
This mechanic is actually a rather radical reimagination of a feature included in the original Ishin, which let the player recruit troops to be utilized in the Battle Dungeon feature designed as a portable progression method primarily played via the PS Vita companion app. Of course, the PS Vita has long departed the realm of the living (at least as a console supported by developers), so the mechanic has been completely overhauled into something that can be used during the main portion of the gameplay.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! releases on February 21, 2023 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
In case you missed the news, this is not exactly the same game titled Ryu Ga Gotoku: Ishin! that launched exclusively on the Japanese market in 2014 for PS3 and PS4. It's actually a substantial remake similar to the Yakuza Kiwami games. In fact, the Japanese version is titled "Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! Kiwami."
