A new Life is Strange game has been announced. Promising a new cast, power, and story, this next game in Dontnod's narrative franchise will have its world premiere at Square Enix Presents next week.

Life is Strange is a series of episodic, story-based games that has some shared elements across the series. Typically, the protagonist (or someone close to them) will have some kind of strange power and get caught up in a mystery. Uncovering that mystery (and exploring the story) is a big part of the appeal, and now a brand-new game in the Life is Strange franchise will be revealed very soon.

New Life is Strange Game Promises a Fresh Story

This mysterious new Life is Strange game is promising players an entirely fresh experience. You can expect to see a new cast of characters in a new location, along with some kind of new mystery for them to uncover.

Naturally, this new game will also feature some kind of strange power for either the protagonist or one of their friends. Previous games featured time travel (Life is Strange) and telekinesis (Life is Strange 2). The only outlier is the side game Life is Strange: Before the Storm where the protagonist where Chloe had the power to "backtalk" during conversations; strictly speaking, that was not so much a power as it was a manifestation of her being a walking ball of sass.

Sadly, that's all we know about the game for now. The first game was pretty darn good (and some people are warming up to its sequel), so the odds are good that we'll be seeing something pretty cool in next week's reveal.

What Else is Being Revealed at Square Enix Presents Spring 2021?

I'm sure many people are looking forward to a new Life is Strange game, but that's not all that's on the way — Square Enix will also be featuring a few more games in the mix and we could very well see some surprises from any of these other titles.

Here are the other games that are going to be featuring in the Square Enix Presents Spring 2021 presentation:

  • Marvel's Avengers – join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for a special look at the latest additions to the time and space-spanning adventure.
  • Outriders – get a new look at the upcoming RPG-shooter ahead of its release on April 1. If you can pull yourself away from the awesome demo long enough to watch, of course.
