Epic has just announced the details for the upcoming Fortnite update, update v3.5. It adds a ton of new content, including new weapons and modes, as well as the usual bug fixes and gameplay tweaks.

First up is the return of the 50v50 mode, which Epic has followed up with an awesome trailer showing the giant team deathmatch in action. The mode is once again only available for a limited time and sees two teams of 50 battle it out to reign supreme. Check out the trailer below:

Next up is the addition of a brand new Light Machine Gun weapon. It features a very high rate of fire as you would expect, and has a 100 round magazine. Over on the Save the World side of things, there's a new Into the Storm: Encore mode which has players venture into the storm with Lars in order to earn treasure and rewards. There's also two new characters up for grabs, both with a cyberpunk theme.

Also on its way to Fortnite: Save the World is the Mercury LMG. This light machine gun forgoes bullets and instead fires pulses of energy and has an appropriately futuristic design. There are also some conciliatory bonuses for all players as an apology for the recent server problems the game has been experiencing lately. All Fortnite: Battle Royale players will receive 20 Battle Pass Stars while Save the World players will get 1600 Seasonal Gold.

Epic are running a bonus XP period starting April 19 until April 22 in which players double the experience while playing Fortnite: Battle Royale. An Into the Storm Llama will be added each day to the Save the World game mode too.

Update v3.5 is the latest change to Fortnite: Battle Royale following the news that the Guided Missile was being removed from the game over fears that it was over-powered. Stay tuned for future Fortnite news and head here for the full details on the new update.
