As leaks have already spoiled, the next entry in the Call of Duty series is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, featuring none other than Captain Price himself.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25, 2019. It will be a "powerful experience reimagined from the ground up," according to a press release. You can check out the official reveal trailer below.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will feature a campaign mode, which is something that was absent from last year's entry. The trailer shows different settings including the Middle East and visually shares great similarity to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Meanwhile, we saw shootouts in several different European settings. Again, this is something Modern Warfare veterans have come to expect in their campaigns.
According to Infinity Ward co-Studio Head Dave Stohl, the campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare takes inspiration from "headlines in the world today."
In addition to a campaign, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare features multiplayer and also a cooperative mode. Creative Director and co-Studio Head of Infinity Ward Patrick Kelly says that this entry will feature cross-play with PC and consoles. Modern Warfare will also not feature a season pass and instead includes free post-launch content such as maps.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's graphical prowess is shown off in the trailer above, and plans will be pleased to find out that it runs on a new engine. This engine allows for 4K HDR, raytracing, and more advanced graphical options. According to the press release, "Spectral rendering delivers thermal heat radiation and infrared identification for both thermal and night-vision in-game imaging."
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25th, 2019 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. On PC it will be available on Battle.net.
