New Bethesda Trademark Could Hint at Future Starfield DLC

Bethesda has filed a new trademark that might hint at the existence of forthcoming Starfield DLC, or perhaps (although this is much more of a shot in the dark) a followup.

The trademark is for something called "Starborn", and its category is "recorded computer game software", which is essentially the generic category for games, DLC, and the like.

In case you haven't played Starfield (for which I really wouldn't blame you), the Starborn are a group of beings that appear a little ways into the game's main story. I don't want to spoil what they are or what they're about, but they're kind of a big deal in Starfield's universe.

Starfield could be getting some new DLC.

Naturally, since this is just a trademark, there's no indication as to what "Starborn" could actually be, but it's most likely another expansion for the game, following on from the upcoming Shattered Space expansion, which is due to launch sometime this fall.

Since Shattered Space hasn't launched yet, it's likely going to be a while until we hear from whatever "Starborn" turns out to be, but count on it being the second major DLC for Starfield.

There is, of course, always the possibility that this could be a sequel to Starfield, but given how long the game took to make, as well as the fact that its first DLC hasn't yet been released, a second DLC pack is far more likely.

If you still haven't caught up with Starfield, it's Bethesda's latest open-world RPG along similar lines as games like Skyrim and Fallout (Bethesda's interpretation of the latter, that is).

The game revolves around a miner who inadvertently discovers an artifact that gives them a cosmic vision, leading them to an interstellar organization that aims to discover the truth behind said visions.

Originally announced in 2018Starfield was originally set for release in 2022, but was delayed before finally seeing the light of day last year.

It was met with mostly positive reviews, although Bethesda itself responded to certain negative reviews on Steam in a way that did not exactly bespeak confidence in its game.

If you're interested, you can check out Starfield right now on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
