The Netflix animated adaptation of Castlevania will be premiering on the video streaming service on October 26, 2018, according to a tweet from the series' official account.

Castlevania is one of the classic gaming franchises. Originally debuting in the late '80s, Konami's video game series had managed to maintain its momentum with new titles coming out in the following two decades. Perhaps the most notable game in the series is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PlayStation, a game that added in deeper RPG elements and featured Dracula's son Alucard as a playable protagonist. Dracula's son features in the Netflix series under the name of Adrian Tepes.

Producer Adi Shankar managed to bring the series to life after a live-action movie was stuck in development hell for quite some time. The Netflix adaptation of this classic gaming franchise was first announced in early 2017.

The first season of the series was comprised of only four episodes, garnering much praise for its adaptation of the opening of Castlevania 3. Season 2 will have twice that amount according to Richard Armitage, the voice actor of series protagonist Trevor Belmont. Though the second season has already wrapped production, he stated in early June of this year that a third season is already well into production. The second season's release date was confirmed by the official Twitter account which came online less than a week ago.

Although it has been some time since we've seen a proper Castlevania game on modern systems, fans will at least be able to experience the neverending tale of the Belmont family battling Dracula and his minions on the Netflix animated series. The second season of Castlevania will premier on Netflix on October 26, 2018.
