The classic NES library on the Nintendo Switch will soon be seeing two new additions with the announced release of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Kirby's Adventure to the online platform next month. Nintendo announced the additions on Tuesday via BusinessWire, stating that the games would be available to subscribers of their Switch Online service along with the more than 30 classic NES games already on the service starting on the 13th of February.

The inclusion of Super Mario Bros. 2 is especially welcome for many fans as it finally rounds out the trilogy of NES titles that made Mario famous in North America and Europe. Kirby's Adventure is also the game which brought Kirby to the home consoles and joins the likes of The Legend of Zelda and Metroid as one of the most popular titles in the console's history. The addition of new games is sure to make the Nintendo Switch Online service more attractive, with the ability to play these classic titles with another person both in the same room or online a definitive improvement over the older Virtual Console service.

With these two additions, the total number of games available via Nintendo Switch Online has risen to 33 and includes fan favorites such as Double Dragon, Ice Climbers, and Donkey Kong. Nintendo has promised to add new games to the service regularly, increasing the appeal of the service to many Nintendo Switch owners as the library of games included grows.

Are there any games which you think are a needed inclusion for the Nintendo Switch Online service? Let us know in the comments below which games you want to be added to the service next.
