Square Enix appears to have inadvertently leaked the Neo: The World Ends With You PC release date. The game will launch in a week's time and will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store, much like the Kingdom Hearts PC releases were.

When is the Neo: The World Ends With You PC release date?

The PC release date for Neo: The World Ends With You was leaked via the official Square Enix website. On the main page, there's a tile view of some upcoming Square Enix titles. Scrolling down a little reveals a banner for Neo: TWEWY, and hovering over that banner displays some text reading "Neo: The World Ends With You is coming to Epic Games Store on September 28th!". There hasn't been any kind of official press announcement on Square Enix's part, either. Oops.

We know this announcement has jumped the gun a little because it encourages you to pre-order the game via the Epic Games Store. However, clicking the banner simply leads to a "404: Page Not Found" page on the storefront. Looks like someone uploaded the announcement before it was ready. We're assuming that pretty soon, Neo: The World Ends With You pre-orders will indeed go live. For now, though, you'll just have to content yourself with knowing the PC release date.

What is Neo: The World Ends With You?

Originally announced for PS4 and Switch last year (and thereafter announced to be coming to PC at a later date), Neo: The World Ends With You is a sequel to the cult DS RPG The World Ends With You. The new game adds brand new features like extra pins and a new Reaper type, and features fully 3D graphics, unlike the original's 2D anime-inspired style. After copies of the game were mistakenly sent to players early (which, admittedly, was Nintendo's mistake), you'd think Square Enix would be keeping a tighter lid on info about the PC release, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

You'll be able to check out Neo: The World Ends With You on PC when it launches via the Epic Games Store next week. It's worth checking the store periodically to see if the game has gone live yet, as well as keeping an eye on Square Enix's Twitter feed for more info. In the meantime, you can already play Neo: The World Ends With You on PS4 (or PS5 via backwards compatibility) and Nintendo Switch right now.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
