If you're looking to play some Uncharted 2 or multiplayer this weekend, or perhaps a spot of The Last of Us on PS3, you're out of luck. Naughty Dog has shut down the multiplayer servers for those games on Sony's last-gen console.

Practically, this doesn't mean a whole lot except that you won't be able to play multiplayer on those games. Titles affected include Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake's DeceptionThe Last of Us, and The Last of Us: Left Behind. In a blog post on its official website, Naughty Dog says it's "honored" to have supported the communities that have risen up around those games. The studio also wants to thank fans for their "incredible enthusiasm, feedback, and support".

This means that if you want to experience multiplayer on Uncharted 2 or Uncharted 3, you're totally out of luck. Fans of The Last of Us' multiplayer mode can still play it on the PS4 version. Anyone hankering for some classic Uncharted multiplayer action can still have fun with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Sadly, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection doesn't support multiplayer on either Uncharted 2 or 3. Wave a tearful goodbye to the multiplayer modes on those games forever.

Of course, if you're still wanting to play the single-player campaigns on any of these games, you absolutely can. The Last of Us still boasts a peerless story, and Uncharted's sequels are great Hollywood action romps. There's nothing stopping you from firing them up on your old dusty PS3 and blasting through them again for old times' sake. The Last of Us Remastered still has some pretty active multiplayer servers, so if you are hungry for a game, that's where you should go. In the meantime, we'll be reminiscing over our favorite Uncharted multiplayer moments. See you on the other side, Naughty Dog PS3 classics.
