The first big My Time at Sandrock update is coming next week, and we have some more details about what we can expect from it. Titled "Logan Strikes Back", the update will add more storyline, more romanceable NPCs, and a new story dungeon to explore, plus lots more.

What's coming in this My Time at Sandrock update?

Pathea Games first teased this update earlier this month, but we've now got more information regarding what we can expect from it. First up, the update is bringing new story content that will continue the first act of My Time at Sandrock as well as beginning the second act. You'll learn more about existing townspeople and meet new characters, and what's more, the amount of romanceable NPCs is increasing, so if none of them float your boat right now, the update might change that.

You'll be able to romance NPCs like Fang, Elsie, and Amirah, with more coming in the future. The update is also adding a brand new story dungeon set on a rather exciting sunken ship, and while you're exploring, you can make use of the new Vintage Assault Rifle weapon, which will give you an advantage in ranged combat. New melee weapons will also be added to the game, and you'll be able to choose between them based on your personal preference. You can check out a preview video showing off some of the new My Time at Sandrock Logan Strikes Back update features below.

What else is coming in the update?

As well as the above, you'll also be able to take advantage of expanded workshop plot size and an increased number of decoration items, so you can make your little homestead look as quaint as you like. You won't just be able to craft furniture; you'll also get the chance to dye it and change its color depending on what you're into. Just remember that red and green should never be seen (unless you're into that combination). All of this comes with optimizations and technical boosts that should reduce loading times when entering or leaving rooms to about 3 seconds, as well as a framerate boost of 20% if you've got at least 16GB of RAM. That should be a balm if you've been experiencing FPS issues with the game.

The new My Time at Sandrock update drops on August 29th via both Steam Early Access and the Epic Games Store. Naturally, if you already own the game, this update will be completely free, so you won't have to do any additional purchasing to get all these new features. If you're new to Sandrock and you need some help settling in, then make sure to take a look at our My Time at Sandrock guides, which have all the information you need on everything from NPC gifts all the way through to cooking and exploration.
