The Coronavirus is nothing to disregard and Patheea Games, developers of My Time at Portia, are trying to do what they can to combat it. Unfortunately, the virus took the lives of over 250 people, with over ten thousand confirmed cases of infection. Of course, China is the most affected country of this deadly epidemic. It was only time before the recent repercussions and governmental decision to extend holidays affect the gaming industry.
Pathea Games, the Chinese Chongqing-based studio, reached out to their fans through the title's Steam page. The blog post mainly clarified the current situation of the studio's staff, with four members under quarantine in Wuhan. The remaining members are all crawled up in their homes to avoid coming in contact with a potential infected person on their way to work.
However, this wasn't the main objective of the blog post, as Pathea Games will donate all of My Time at Portia's February earnings to an established charity foundation doing their best to fight back the Coronavirus epidemic. Naturally, the title's two scheduled content updates are delayed indefinitely.
We have decided that we'll donate all of the proceeds that we receive as a studio from the My Time at Portia Steam and WeGame sales for the month of February to HAN HONG LOVE CHARITY FOUNDATION. ( Now the charity has stopped accepting donations, but we have made contact and are in further communication.) We will be very transparent about it and will post the final numbers for both Steam and WeGame sales as well as the donation receipt at the start of next month.
