Fans of Koei Tecmo's Warriors titles rejoice, this morning popular game developer and publisher Koei Tecmo announced that Warriors All-Stars will be getting a release on Western shores for both the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. This title will release on the 29th of August. This western release follows the announcement of Musou Stars, the Japanese name for this game, from last years Tokyo Game Show.

The purpose of Warriors All-Stars is that Koei Tecmo will be putting together a large cast of characters not only from their previous Warriors titles but from other games. At the moment these are all of the characters that have been announced for the mash-up:

  • Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden
  • Kasumi from Dead or Alive
  • William from Nioh
  • Yukimura Sanada from Samurai Warriors
  • Zhao Yun from Dynasty Warriors
  • Horo and Oka from Toukiden
  • Sophie Neuenmuller from Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book and many, many more
The story of the game takes place in a strange land where their magical spring, and the source of all the lands power, has dried up bringing the world to the edge of destruction. In this land, though there is a legend that when the land is in need champions can be summoned to aid in the fight. It is then that princess Tamaki brings forth heroes from other worlds, even if the spell doesn't work perfectly and they get scattered across the land.

Not only is has the western release been announced but also preorder bonuses if you purchase the game from Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop, or EB Canada. These bonuses include crossover costumes such as a Ryu Hayabusa themed costume for Yukimura Sanada, an Oka costume for Sophie Nueunmuller and more. There will also be an early-unlock available for Opoona, one of the characters from the game.
