After the shocking announcement that Telltale Games would be shutting down with only a skeleton crew left to complete Minecraft: Story Mode's collaboration with Netflix, and discontinuing development of The Walking Dead: The Final Season after its second episode, it appears there might still be some hope for those looking to see the end of Clementine’s story.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season is the fourth game in Telltale's acclaimed The Walking Dead franchise. The first episode for this season - "Done Running" - released on August 14, 2018. Its second episode, titled "Suffer the Children," will release tomorrow with any issues according to the tweet.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season continues the story of Clementine, this time much older and experienced than the child we've seen grow up in previous seasons. Players are going to fall into the role of a leader like Lee was in the first season, and ultimately determine the fate of Clementine as a conclusion to the four-season run. The Steam page is still with the option to buy this four-episode season at full price, or you can download a demo. Many fans are calling for a refund because of the undetermined fate of the season. Some fans claim they have received refunds for their purchase, while others find their requests were denied, hopefully, future clarity will assist this across various platforms.
Melissa Hutchinson, the voice actor for The Walking Dead's main character, Clementine, spoke about the studio's closure on Twitter as well, saying: "To my knowledge, they will release Episode 2 and that will be it." So far, it appears that an outside studio collaboration with the remainder of Telltale Games' to finish season 4 is far from becoming reality.
