After what seems like an eternity, the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Early Access release date has finally been announced. I've taken a quick glance out my window and I can also happily confirm that the apocalypse has not yet begun, either!
On the off chance you've been living under a rock, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is the highly-anticipated sequel to TaleWorlds Entertainment's 2008 game Mount & Blade. That title was followed by an enhanced edition called Mount & Blade: Warband, and then we endured several years of silence before the developers announced that we would be getting a sequel. Now, we know that we'll finally be able to get our hands on it early next year: the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Early Access release date is March 2020.
Countless developer blogs have been released every few weeks over the last several years detailing a bevy of new systems that either improve on previous mechanics or outright introduce new ones. Everything from trading to battle and even simple acts like conversations are getting an overhaul, nevermind all of the obvious stuff like graphics.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord also happens to be playable at Gamescom 2019 right now. Understandably, the developers can't exactly let people try the epic single-player campaign and keep the lines moving, so you'll be able to get your hands on the multiplayer gameplay modes and try your hand at the refined combat mechanics in the upgraded engine.
Any halfway decent fan of medieval games has at least a passing familiarity with Bannerlord and I'm sure every single one of them will be happy to hear that the wait is nearly over. We'll all be able to play Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord when it comes to Steam Early Access sometime in March 2020. In the meantime, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam. Watch the Early Access trailer below to get hyped for the upcoming action!
