The Mount & Blade 2 release date has been leaked via an article, and a subsequent database update shows that the leak was correct.
Earlier today, PC gamer reportedly released an article about the release date by accident. The reported link to the article is now dead, but a user on the game's official forums says that they've grabbed a couple of screenshots.
I've had a good look around and I haven't yet been able to verify the authenticity of these screenshots, so normally I would be quite comfortable in calling the listed release date a rumor.
However, a comment in a Reddit submission discussing the leaked article highlights another interesting piece of information. While the game's Steam Store page still shows the current release window of "March 2020", something has subtly changed behind the scenes.
When is the Mount & Blade 2 Release Date?
As noted in the above Reddit comment, SteamDB has recorded a change to the backend of the Mount & Blade 2 Steam Store page.
⊡ Changed Store Release Date –
31 March 2020› March 2020
Between the reportedly-leaked PC Gamer article and the very real change listed on Steam DB, I think it's pretty safe to say that the Mount & Blade 2 Early Access release date is March 31, 2020.
One other piece of information was revealed in the leaked PC Gamer article, and that's the price. According to these unverified screenshots, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is going to be priced at $49.99/£39.99 or your regional equivalent and it will be available for purchase on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and its own website.
In the end, the release date has been confirmed with an update to the game's Steam Store page. We've reached out to Taleworlds about the price (which has still not yet been listed) and will update this article when we receive a reply or when the official news drops. For now, you can add the game to your wishlist on Steam.
