Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord is a game home to plenty of full conversion mods that add a variety of fantasy franchises to the game. An upcoming mod for the game hopes to bring The Wheel of Time novels to the game.
Published from 1990 to 2013, The Wheel of Time is a high fantasy series of twelve books penned by Robert Jordan (real name James Oliver Rigney Jr) and Brandon Sanderson, who finished the final three books when Jordan died before finishing the story. His world (which has no official name) is one focused on the cyclical nature of time, resulting in a world that is simultaneously the distant past and distant future of Earth. The series draws on elements from a wide variety of mythologies and religions, such as Taoism's respect for nature, the creation story of Christianity and Islam, and the metaphysical concepts of balance and duality.
The trailer and the mod's page on ModDB give us a good idea of what the mod will look like. Mysterious Adversary Ishmael, the team behind this Mount and Blade II mod, claim to have designed over 50 new armors for the game, with at least 20 more on the way. Those playing the mod will be able to play as any of The Wheel of Time's nations, including the Shadow and the Forsaken. Players will also be able to make use of the One Power, a natural power source that certain people can channel in a way similar to classic fantasy magic.
The Wheel of Time mod is planned to release a beta sometime this year. In the meantime, you can follow the mod's progress on the team's Discord.
