The Moonlighter Friends and Foes Update is here! This brand-new update to Digital Sun's quirky shopkeeping RPG hybrid brings a whole bunch of new features to the game, just in time for Valentine's Day! Among the new features are new familiars, new minibosses, and incredibly important upgrades to the almighty Broom. (It makes sense in context.)

If watching a video is more of your thing, take a peek at the Moonlighter Friends and Foes Update Feature Trailer to see some of them in under a minute:

One of the foremost new features is 9 new familiars that are being added to the game. Getting them is pretty easy: simply kill a particular enemy type ten times. Once you do, you'll acquire an egg that can be hatched. Each of the new familiars has their own unique abilities including healing you, dealing damage to enemies, and others. Of course, there's also the "and Foes" part of the Update. 8 new Minibosses are now available to challenge players. These new bad boys will pop up at the end of the first and second floors of each dungeon.

Most critically, you're now able to reacquire your broom if you somehow manage to lose it. This is, frankly, a game-changing feature to what is the most important (and most awesome) part of the game. There's a lot more to read in the patch notes, so be sure to go check them out for all the details. If you like what you see in the Moonlighter Friends and Foes Update, why not pick up the game for yourself? You can grab it on Steam or GOG for $11.99, a 40% discount or if you prefer just over on Humble Bundle. Don't forget to read our review and see what we thought of this game! I've had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven't stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs - I've tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I'm always looking to try more!
