The Moondrop release date has just dropped, and it's coming very soon: August 12, 2022, in fact. It's being released on a full moon, which is the type of weirdness that I can appreciate for any game, let alone a roguelite farming simulator. As for what you can expect, it's a non-violent title set on a shapeshifting mountain, which is also pretty out there. Let's check it out, shall we?
What can I expect from Moondrop?
As a nonviolent roguelite farming simulator, Moondrop will try to offer an alternative to games like Stardew Valley or My Time at Sandrock, where violence isn't the answer or an answer at all. Instead, you'll need to try to survive the mists of time, which promises to eventually end your farm and your run. You'll have to carefully position your crops for maximum growth while also dealing with plants that will teleport around your farm and cannibalize their neighbors. There's also a procedurally generated mountain trail "dungeon" that's filled with puzzles, secrets, and powerful potion ingredients that will help you survive.

Once your farm is consumed by the mists, you'll have to rebuild while also using new upgrades, perks, and magical items that you've unlocked. Eventually, you'll reach the top of the mountain and uncover its mysteries, but until then you'll have to go at it one run at a time while slowly becoming more powerful.
