During the Day of the Devs showcase, we got to see the world premiere of Ustwo Games next game, Desta: The Memories Between

What is Desta: The Memories Between?

Best known for the Monument Valley series, Ustwo Games is bringing their talents to what they are calling their most ambitious game yet, Desta: The Memories Between. Desta takes inspiration from Hades, Into the Breach, and the film Inception with the aim to create a title that has a lot of replayability while telling a story with a lot of heart.

As the main character Desta, you explore past memories to better understand relationships with friends and family in the hopes of repairing and improving those relationships for the better. Every character you come across in the game, and the memories you delve into, are deeply important to Desta in some way.

It is in those memories that you will be challenged, and the Into the Breach like gameplay comes into play. Those combat encounters represent the real struggle your character is going through in working out the rifts and other issues they have with the character who they have a shared memory with. If you come through on the other side victorious, Desta is rewarded with the revelation of the right words to say.

Ustwo has a history of making approachable games with a lot of heart that emphasize fantastic emotional moments, from the small and simple pleasures of running around a beautiful island, to the satisfaction of righting wrongs in one's past. Desta will likely be an emotional journey full of those same sort of moments.

Desta: The Memories Between does not have a release date yet, but we all will certainly learn more about the game, its world, and its gameplay sometime soon. Be sure to check back here for updates.
