Alatreon in Monster Hunter: World

Earlier this week, Capcom announced that it would be launching Title Update 4 for Monster Hunter: World on July 9th. Now, the studio has revealed details of exactly what's coming in that update. It'll add a new monster, a new event quest, and lots more stuff to the game.

What's coming in Monster Hunter: World's Title Update 4?

The biggest new addition to Monster Hunter: World in the new update is Alatreon, a newly-discovered monster said to be "a symbol of destruction". You'll be able to take on Alatreon after you've finished Monster Hunter: World - Iceborne. It can change its element at will and will shift its attack patterns and weaknesses to correspond to the element it's currently taking on. Naturally, there will be new armor and weapons to craft once you've defeated Alatreon too. You can check out the newest Monster Hunter: World developer diary, which elaborates on Alatreon plus lots of other Title Update 4 stuff, right here:

As well as Alatreon, you'll also be able to take on Frostfang Barioth in Title Update 4. Frostfang Barioth won't be coming to Monster Hunter: World at the same time as Alatreon. Instead, you'll be able to fight this monster starting from August 7th and ending on August 19th. Between those dates, an Event Quest called "The Last White Knight" will feature Frostfang Barioth as its objective. By taking it down, you'll get access to unique weapons and armor to craft. Alongside both Alatreon and Frostfang Barioth, Title Update 4 also features plenty of quality-of-life updates and bugfixes. Check out the full patch notes right here.

What does Monster Hunter: World's new roadmap look like?

Monster Hunter: World's new roadmap includes both the Alatreon and Frostfang Barioth quests, as well as special summer events between July 22nd and August 6th. In addition to those monsters, there's also a tease for a returning monster in Fall 2020's Title Update 5. You'll also be able to experience the game's seasonal fall events around that time. We don't know yet what that monster might be, so stay tuned for more info about Monster Hunter: World as we get it.
