Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

The Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak release date has been announced, and the game will be coming on June 30th, 2022 for Nintendo Switch and PC. There are also a bunch of new things that have been revealed for the expansion today, which includes details about the new Elgato Outpost hub, new monsters, and new abilities that hunters will encounter after finishing the main game. Let's check it all out, shall we?

What else is coming to Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak?

The story for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak begins following the defense of the Kamura Village against the Rampage that concludes Monster Hunter Rise. From there, players will be able to set out for the port of Elgado Outpost, which is described as a "bustling maritime waystation" that's home to the Laboratory researching abnormal monster activity that's troubling the Kingdom. From here, players will interact with new characters such as Admiral Galleus, scientist Bahari, Minayle the Blacksmith, Oboro the Merchant, and Chichae, a quest giver. Your allies will assist you in crafting new gear, and teach you to perform the new Wirebug techniques.

As you can see in the above trailer, the Three Lords are the newest baddies that players will have to tackle. They are Garangolm, the chilling Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno. Other monster variants and returning fan favorites include the Blood Orange Bishaten and the mighty Astalos, which will challenge hunters in the newly added Master Rank quest difficulty.

While the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak release date is very welcome news indeed, that's not all that was announced today. The expansion itself will be going for $39.99, and $49.99 for the Deluxe Edition that will include things like layered armor sets, gestures, and a hairstyle. There's also a physical collector's edition that launches for $99.99. It will include physical items such as a sticker pack, enamel pin, steelbook case, and an amiibo figure of Malzeno, the expansion’s flagship monster.

However, if you want to start the game off for the first time, you can get Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak for Nintendo Switch and PC for $69.99. If you preorder Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak you'll receive the "Loyal Dog" and "Striped Cat" layered armor sets for the Palamute and Palico companions. At launch, players on the Nintendo Switch will be able to purchase three Malzeno-inspired amiibo that will unlock special layered armor for their hunter, Palamute, and Palico partners.

Loyal Dog
You can own the most loyal doggo ever.

For new players preparing for the looming Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak release date, new armor sets, and weapons have been added, which range from the Defender series of weapons, which can be paired with the Black Belt armor and Veteran's Talisman for enhanced survivability and useful skills.
