Chances are good you've heard of Monster Monpiece, the Vita (and eventually Steam) game that involved players collecting "Monster Girl" cards, "rubbing" them to power them up and then unleashing them on their opponents. It was pretty infamous for a variety of reasons. However, did you know that Monster Monpiece itself was only the first game in a series? The other titles in the series, all Vita games, perhaps unsurprisingly didn't make their ways west. While no official reason had been given, it's not hard to assume that Idea Factory International's pledge to simply not release games in the west rather than censor them during localization might've been directed at those titles in particular. The first sequel to Monster Monpiece, Moero Chronicle, although it didn't receive an official western release for Vita, did receive an English translation in Asia. However, none of the other games in the series have received an English translation in any form (despite Moero Crystal originally having one such translation announced after the apparent success of Chronicle's Asian English release).

While Moero Crystal still lacks an English release, Moero Chronicle will now be receiving an official western release alongside a Steam for Windows PC port later this summer. Vita fans, unfortunately, won't be seeing this release, but as previously mentioned the Asian version of the title is fairly easy to find and import on sites like Play-Asia. Idea Factory International's PC port will come with an updated 1080p resolution, as well as Japanese and Chinese text options in addition to the obvious English translation.

Unlike the aforementioned Monster Monpiece, Moero Chronicle is a Dungeon RPG much like MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death or Mary Skelter: Nightmares. Players battle, recruit, and train over 70 different Monster Girls, and the game even gives players the option of strengthening their relationships with their army of anthropomorphized monsters. Naturally, the series' infamous "rubbing" minigame returns here as well. We'll update you with more information on the game's western release as it continues to come in.
