After taking the horror genre by storm with its release last year, Modus Publishing will publish Remothered: Tormented Fathers' sequel. Remothered: Going Porcelain, inspired by games such as Haunting Ground and the Clock Tower series, releases on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch in 2020. As is typical for the genre, the player is much weaker than their stalker. They must avoid their enemies using stealth, guile, and the occasional knitting needle to the kidney.
Developed by DarrilArts and Stormind Games, Remothered: Tormented Fathers focused on the disappearance of Celeste Felton, a young girl. Taking the role of the enigmatic Rosemary Reed, the player investigated Felton Manor and uncovered its dark, sordid history. TechRaptor wrote up a review of the first entry in November. The first game in the trilogy both embraced horror conventions and took steps to stand on its own. Remothered: Tormented Fathers won numerous accolades for its heart-pounding gameplay and gorgeous visuals. Awards included Eurogamer's 2018 Best Indie Game award and Italian Video Game Awards Best Italian Video Game of 2018.
In late March, Founder and Creative Director Chris Darril posted some gut-wrenching storyboard artwork, perhaps alluding to Rosemary's mysterious past. Remothered: Tormented Fathers ended with several questions left unanswered, particularly pertaining to Ms. Reed's involvement.
What to expect from #GoingPorcelain, my next game? In the exhausting waiting of being able to reveal you more about it, I will give you a foretaste of few frames from the cinematic storyboards. One thing is sure: there will be so many tears :P Stay tuned and enjoy! #chrisdarril pic.twitter.com/RxfRlsglAE— Chris Darril (@chrisdarril) March 28, 2019
Darril also released a statement regarding Remothered: Going Porcelain, assuring fans that the sequel will be as emotionally heavy and terrifying as the first title.
"I am immensely proud of the success gained by Remothered: Tormented Fathers and even more proud about the collaboration that will give life to the second title of the trilogy. Get ready for something new, something mad, something to be scared of and to cry for at the same time. Get ready to enter a tragic love story."
