According to Activsion the only way you will be able to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be to buy the special editions of the new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

With the rumor of a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered coming with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, turning out to be true many people have asked if the remastered version of the game will be sold separately. Activision appear to have put a stop to the speculation on the FAQ page of their website.

To the question

"Will Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered come as a separate disc?"

The answer is

No, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game digital download that will be included in the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Internet connection required.

Ok well just because it isn't being sold on a disk, doesn't mean you want be able to get it digitally, right?

Another question seems to answer that though.

"How can I get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered?"

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is only available through the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."

In the UK the Legacy Pro edition is exclusive to the retailer GAME, who are selling it for £109.99, while the Legacy edition is being sold for £79.99 at other sellers. That is a pretty hefty price for people who may only interested in the remastered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In North America there is no such set up, meaning the Legacy Edition will be available at stores for $79.99, with the Legacy Pro running for $119.99 while the digital deluxe is $99.99.

So as of now, according to Activsion they will not be selling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered separately. Of course in the future they could change their mind, but if they were to turn around on this there is sure to be a lot of people who paid a lot for the Legacy editions will feel hard done by.

Back in 2009 when the first Call of Duty was released on consoles as Call of Duty: Classic, it came with the Hardened and Prestige editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. However the game was also available for purchase on its own through PSN and Xbox Live Arcade.
