Free-to-play massive robot battler Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 is headed to PS5. It'll hit Sony's next-gen platform this Thursday and will bring with it exclusive DualSense controller features.
What will Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 be like on PS5?
According to an official PlayStation Blog post, the PS5 version of Battle Operation 2 will boast improved loading times and a better frame rate over the PS4 version. In addition, unique DualSense controller features will be added to the game. These include adaptive trigger feedback when firing, bullet audio from the DualSense's speaker, and haptic feedback on projectile impact.
Bandai Namco says that firing each weapon will feel different through the DualSense's adaptive triggers and haptic feedback motors. Weapons will offer different resistances on the triggers, for example, while some weapons will simulate knockback or rapid-fire vibrations. The example Bandai Namco gives is of firing a bazooka; when you're pulling the trigger, resistance will cause it to catch right before the bullet fires, with tension releasing as you continue to press the trigger down.
More updates for Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2
On the same day as Battle Operation 2 comes to PS5, there are more updates on the way for the game. The brand new Military Base map will launch on Thursday as well. It's a long-range combat map with plenty of flat terrain and lots of buildings to navigate. Bandai Namco recommends you try the map's new triangle-roofed warehouses, but be careful not to be overrun by raid units while you're hiding out up there.
As well as the new map, there's also a new English audio voiceover. Bandai Namco says Neidhardt, Tenda, and Katarina in your Base Camp have brand new voices, so make sure to stop and chat with them for a while to hear that snazzy new audio. You can swap your audio options in the H.A.R.O. menu any time, so if you're not a fan of the new English VO, you can always swap back. Lastly, if you've played Battle Operation 2 on PS4, your data will switch over to PS5. Happy mecha-piloting!
