Sony has revealed dates for the upcoming MLB The Show 23 technical test, and we now know who the cover star will be for the lavish Collector's Edition of the game.

Sony has revealed when you can expect to head into the MLB The Show 23 technical test to try out the game. The test is scheduled for mid-February, and it'll be available across all consoles with full crossplay. We also learned which baseball legend will adorn the game's Collector's Edition cover.

Your MLB The Show 23 Collector's Edition cover star is 14x All-Star Derek Jeter, whose accomplishments, according to Sony's announcement post, are pretty impressive. If you're a baseball fan, you'll already know all about this 5-time World Series champion, but here's a quick trailer to refresh your memory just in case you've forgotten.

If you buy either one of the MLB The Show 23 Collector's Editions, physical or digital, you'll get a 4-day headstart on the game, so you'll be able to access it on March 24th instead of its recently-announced release date of March 28th. The MLB The Show 23 technical test starts on February 15th and runs until February 21st. If you're 18 or over, you can participate in the test on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. The test will support crossplay, so you'll be able to play with others on different platforms. It's free, and you don't need to sign up, so make sure to mark your calendar for February 15th so you can take part.
