The Minecraft New Year's Celebration has been announced, delivering free content to Java Edition and Bedrock Edition players including the YouTube Creators Skin Pack.

The last couple of weeks have been a bit hectic for Minecraft -- Mojang launched the second part of Caves and Cliffs and recently racked up over a trillion views on YouTube, but the devs also had to deal with fixing a potentially-dangerous Apache remote code exploit. Now, it's detailed a bunch of free new content that's on the way.

What's Coming For the Minecraft New Year's Celebration?

A key feature of the Minecraft New Year's Celebration is a series of free maps and Character Creator items for both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. The exact maps have not yet been revealed, but you'll learn more details about those as they come out.

Also arriving is a daily series of Character Creator Items for Bedrock Edition. As with the maps, these may not be revealed until they're actually released; you'll be able to see them on the Minecraft Marketplace as usual.

Finally, a sale will be coming to the Minecraft Marketplace for Bedrock Edition players. This sale will run from December 21, 2021-January 4, 2021, and it will feature "great giveaways, items at 33% off, and daily doorbusters at 75% off[.]"

Also Arriving: The Minecraft YouTube Creator Skin Pack for Bedrock Edition

There's one more addition of content to highlight for the Minecraft New Year's Celebration -- the Minecraft YouTube Creator Skin Pack will be available for free on the Minecraft Marketplace for one year. This pack features skins from more than 10 creators including Jazzghost, LDShadowlady, and Logdotzip.

It looks like the next few weeks of Minecraft will be packed with tons of fun! You can join the celebration by buying Minecraft on PC, consoles, and mobile devices via its official website.
