Update November 16th 2:03PM: Disney and Minecraft have officially announced the Minecraft Magic Kingdom collaboration. It's a special Minecraft map featuring iconic Disney characters, attractions, and scenery. We've updated the original story to reflect this announcement and the new information.

Original story: Have you ever wanted to explore Minecraft Disney World? Well, now you can. An official Minecraft Magic Kingdom map has been revealed, bringing lots of iconic Disney characters and locations to Mojang's sandbox.

What do we know about this Minecraft Magic Kingdom map?

News of the Minecraft Magic Kingdom game was unveiled at the IAAPA Expo, via Disney enthusiast Matt Dobrovolsky on Twitter. It was then subsequently officially announced via the Minecraft website. It's a map that Mojang and Disney say has been designed "as faithfully as possible" to reflect the real Magic Kingdom, and it includes lots of famous Disney locations including the Haunted Mansion, Cinderella's Castle, and more. You'll also be able to meet Disney characters such as Donald Duck, Frozen's Elsa, and, of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, among others.

It's not just the map itself, of course. Mojang says that a number of Disney-themed extras will be available in the form of character creator items. These include Mickey Mouse ears, as well as other "festive gear" such as Elsa's dress, Woody's iconic hat, and your very own pirate hook so you can dress up as Jack Sparrow. These should give you the chance to create the perfect Disney character to explore the new Magic Kingdom map.

This isn't the first time Minecraft has hosted Disney parks. An unofficial fan mod brought Walt Disney World to Minecraft some years ago, so you can already explore the park in all its glory if you're a Minecraft aficionado. Still, this is the first official collaboration between the two companies. It makes sense; after the (admittedly cursed) Minions collab earlier this year, as well as a team-up with popular kids' show Ben 10, an official version of Walt Disney World within Minecraft is the next logical step.

When is the Minecraft Magic Kingdom game release date?

The new Minecraft Magic Kingdom map is available to download right now. You can get the DLC via the Minecraft Marketplace, where you'll also find a bunch of other creations including community mods, skin packs, and more. The developer on this pack is Everbloom Games, who also made the Dinosaur Dig adventure map and the Haunted Park minigame pack. Looks like this one's a must-play if you're a big Disney fan.

Minecraft has given rise to some pretty spectacular creations throughout the years. Earlier this year, a fan embarked on a project to build Cyberpunk 2077's Night City within Minecraft, and let's not forget the stunning recreation of Breath of the Wild's Hyrule map. This official Minecraft Disney collaboration is going to have to bring its A-game if it wants to compete with Minecraft's incredibly talented fanbase.
